It finally happened...

I finally cracked. Not convinced the tile guy was actually going to make sure we got the tile, I have been calling every day to see when the order comes in. I have called every day this week, including today, and have received the same answer: It's not here yet, but it was supposed to be here on Monday. ("We show it's on the truck on its way here!" Bah!). However, when I called today, the guy told me it would come in this week or next week. What does that mean?????? Ever the non-confrontational person, I really fought my urge to slink back into my corner and actually blurted out, "Isn't there ANYTHING you can do?! This is holding up my entire house!" I became one of those people I hated to talk to when I used to work at the motorcycle store. And the doctor's office. I was borderline disgruntled. The guy assured me that I was top of the pile, and I'd know first thing when it was in. Grrrreat. I hung up the phone and threw myself on the ground, nothing short of throwing an adult hissy fit.... thanking God there are no hidden cameras in my house.

When I regained my composure, I decided it was a fabulous time to call my builder and let him know about every burr that I had been collecting under my proverbial saddle during this entire building project. I know, you're thinking I've lost it... And maybe you're right. But I called the guy anyway, and left a message on his voicemail because he didn't answer. Twenty minutes later, while I was in the shower, he calls back. Once on the house phone, and once on my cell phone. Also, he gives Billy a call. I have made him fearful of me. Ah-HA! Life is good.

Long story even longer, we have an appointment to pow-wow with our builder tomorrow to discuss any and all reasons we are upset... Which I am guessing will pretty much be ME telling the guy why I'M upset, because Billy is too laid back to be confrontational even at this point in the project. I do still like our builder and the tradesmen have done good work, but I think their communication skills suck--this coming from the queen of call screening, I know.

Will keep you all posted on how the big meeting goes. This housebuilding stuff is for the birds.

Oh, and the tile guy showed up at our new house while we were visiting it tonight. I guess the tile company told him the tile was IN (nice). He came to our house to measure the tub.... which has not yet arrived at our house. Ah, the elusive jacuzzi tub. I remain confused.

I want to link to other people's sites....

How do you do this? I keep clicking the "Edit-Me" things on the side, and it takes me to a page that is unavailable.... ALWAYS.

What am I missing?

Edited to add: NEVERMIND.... I figured it out! Thank you, blog help page. Really, I am not as technically-challenged as it sounds like I am! I think.

Gone but not forgotten

Has it really been a week? We have been mucho busy with tile, horse fencing, and.... I don't know what else. I will try to post more later on. Please forgive me!
