The Tennis Game

I was informed that I did not at all resemble Venus Williams at our tennis "match" yesterday. That was, well... because I was taking it easy on Melinda. Heh. The people at the rummage sale right next to the tennis courts sure got entertained, though!!

I'm pretty tired tonight, and depressed thinking of all the typing I have to do for the doctor. So I guess I'll write more later.

I will be happy! I will be happy! Ooooooohm...

Just read through my other blog entries, and noticed a common theme of stress and needing to beat things up. For those of you wondering, I will be happier when the house is done. I swear it. I probably won't have such a fervent need to blog then, either, but..... =) Heh.

I am thinking it will be a noticeable change when we get moved in. It really has to be!

We really got everything AND the kitchen sink!

I am thanking my lucky stars that I went biking with Mel this morning... Because I would totally have knocked some holes in the wall if I hadn't already burned my excess energy. And I bet you're all dying to know why! Well, I'm not one to disappoint....

First, Logan's school calls to let me know Logan has been throwing up at school, and could I please come get him--three hours early? Sure thing. I show up to see the kid skipping around the school, acting perfectly healthy. I start having flashbacks to K-5, when he used to gag himself when displeased with whatever I had packed for lunch. Guess what? The kid made himself puke because he didn't want to eat a PB&J sandwich. I proceeded to tell him the story about The Boy Who Made Himself Puke At School, a la The Boy Who Cried Wolf [thanks, Mom... That was a stroke of genius. The boy loved it so much he asked for it a second time.]

Second, I'm listening to my voicemail about two hours ago, and discover I've missed a call from my builder. It turns out the plumbing supply informs her that I'm $1800 over budget... Basically, it was a tsk, tsk from a grown woman to another grown (albeit clueless) woman. I mean, for gosh sakes! How dare I upgrade to sinks in biscuit vs. white. I oughta be sterilized. Currently, I'm in a strange mixture of outrage and sobbing like a baby stressed. The lady's like, "Your jacuzzi tub was $550 over budget; I don't know what she was doing showing you that tub!" And I'm thinking, I never said I was ordering a tub from that girl. We supposedly did that like four months ago with another company (said tub is in hiding somewhere--gosh, I sure HOPE it's in hiding, at least). Perhaps having TWO jacuzzi tubs in the master bathroom is why our plumbing allowance is $1800 over? Oi vey! I wax Yiddish when I stress, don't mind me.

Is it me, or are my days getting more and more strange? I call Billy to tell him I'm officially crazy, and he has nothing to say to me. I'm guessing he saw this coming. All Billy said was, "I'm never building another house!!!" So I really hope my siblings love us a lot, because we apparently will never go away.

Days like these make me look forward to going to play tennis tomorrow instead of bike riding. I get to whack tennis balls Venus Williams-style, which should make me feel really good. Although, I should call Melinda and make sure she wears body armor.

Not to completely change the subject, but has anyone else seen the American Express commercial where Venus Williams is playing Whack-a-Mole? I about choked the first time I saw it.

The reason it's fun to own two houses in 3, 2, 1...

Because it is WAY fun to not have money. I enjoy it so much, I want to do it for a whole 'nother year!

One of my best friends was to rent my house for the next year while her husband is in Iraq. WAS being the operative word. She calls me to let me know she's not coming home anymore because the military lowered her housing amount and now she can afford approximately $350 less than what we were going to rent the house for. I am like going to vomit.

I told her if that's the only reason she's not coming home, then to not worry about it. Otherwise, the house will be empty and we'll be paying for an empty house until we find someone. I told Billy and he sounded suicidal. OH... MY... GOSH! Drama drama drama. And here I am wishing the jacuzzi tub was installed in the new house because I'd be in it for the next week.

Tomorrow morning I go biking with Melinda, and maybe sign up for a class at the Y. I talked to an old friend from my prenatal exercise class who inspired me to get on the ball and get back into a class or two. Right now, I wish I was doing some kickboxing or something, cuz it would feel really good to kick the crap out of something!!!

I needed a little pick-me-up and got "There's Something About Mary." There's something therapeutic about a really corny movie.

It's a holiday... I don't work today, or the next three days.... so let's celebrate! (Black Eyed Peas - "Labor Day")

Can I just say that Paris Hilton is a genius. An epiphany she shed upon the world this evening while on Jay Leno: "Always act like you have an invisible tiara on your head."- Thank you, Paris Hilton, for that insight. I think I will have to buy her new book and learn how to become an heiress. Bwah!

So, Labor Day was somewhat uneventful. We abandoned our ritual of spending the weekend up at dad's property in favor of Billy back-filling the house to save us some $$. So, much of this weekend, basically, I sat in the house watching kids while Billy did a lot of work then played on various things with motors. By the end of today, I was feeling pretty unimpressed by the whole thing.

I did get to go out and ride Moe, and actually had Wendy come out and ride on Fansi.... Which was oddly uplifting since Fansi wasn't a perfect angel for her. I think I would've felt cheated had she gone above and beyond what I normally get from her. =) She did the compulsary planting-of-the-feet, then the turn of the head all of the way back to Wendy's leg (usually finished with a nice bite from your boot, which doesn't translate well when you're wearing flip-flops, as was my sister). It brought back a lot of memories. So Wendy didn't fall off and test the limits of my ATH, but she did comment that Fansi really does act like a pony (I call her my princess pony, so I guess that's about right).

I feel as if I missed the S'mores today. Am I right?
