Yet ANOTHER rant about Billy's work....

I forgot this in my earlier post....

Billy says his co-worker's days with [a company that shall remain nameless] are numbered. The guy blew up the company truck because he didn't properly maintain it (forgot to put oil in), causing a probable repair at or near the $7k mark.

This is distressing news because it means that Billy is the sole service employee for this state AGAIN. And that it will take them probably a minimum of another month to hire in a new person, and a minimum of three months to train a guy... in most cases, it takes longer (because the guys they have hired in have been clueless when it comes to plumbing and mechanical things, and this last one, driving directions. The guy lives in Detroit and cannot find his way around Detroit to save his life. It baffles me). I cannot figure out why no one "gets" this job, and how they hire the most clueless people out there.

I. DO. NOT. GET. IT.

Maybe my husband is a mechanical geek?

A lazy Saturday night

Well, sort of.

Our church had their 11th anniversary dinner, which was nice except for the fact that my dear husband deemed himself too busy to go and instead stayed home to work on our new garage-door opener. The garage-door opener is awesome.... Words cannot express.... BUT, I wished he had come. It made me feel sad--but I guess that is partly due to the fact that we are snippy with eachother this weekend, and he left at like 1:30 a.m. this morning to go to the office to do work since we were "fighting." It's complicated, really, but a lot of it boils down to the fact that any time he is home he is busy doing one of his projects. Last night it was wiring over at Becki & Rich's, then a little bit of work on the garage-door opener. Before you guys think I'm an insane control freak, let me caveat that by saying I was really sick yesterday morning and layed on mom's couch all day so she could make sure I didn't pass out in my bathroom and also take care of Hunter. Normally, helping my siblings/parents/whomever is not a big deal; yesterday was kind of the exception. Oh well. The fun of being married. We yelled at eachother about who was making dinner tonight, and that pretty much got it out of our systems. Heh.

I am not feeling better today, but at least I don't feel dizzy. I have a backache and an earache and a stomachache (hold on, I think I can whine some more!!! Wait for it...... wait for it.........), and more typing to do. And I got in this weird mood to unpack those boxes with weird odds 'n ends (our junk drawer, basically) in them, so there's papers all over that need to find new homes. Billy did get a lot of the trim pieces in that bridge the gap (literally) between the ceramic tile and the hardwood, so the house is starting to look nearly finished. Now if we could only get those darn mirrors and the stupid piece of crown moulding that's MIA!

A little birdy told me that Angela (my step-sister) is a blog reader here. Happy to have you, even if you don't comment. Actually, maybe I'm not happy anyone in my family reads this, considering the level of witchiness I hit on a fairly regular basis; however, I try to think of this mostly as an online journal, and keep it true to what I would write if no one were reading at all. Mostly. There are just some things better left unsaid, whether in a public forum or otherwise. Lucky for me I don't know those limits. =)

Hasta la vista!

Revenge of the puke!

I don't think it's humorous that my son can puke on command. Yes, I am still waiting for his sheets to wash.

Last time it was a PB&J sandwich the lunch lady had the audacity to give him (per my request). This time, those stupid Triaminic SoftChews that I thought would help him stop coughing. I mean, they taste like baby Aspirin... what's not to like? Instead he opts for cherry-flavored cough syrup and vomits anyway because he's THINKING about the stupid SoftChews.

Why?

I hope John doesn't mind, but I LOVE THIS PICTURE. My Fansi-pants and some stinker named Marissa. Posted by Hello

Maybe it's just me, but I think that's not right.... Posted by Hello

OH, THE INSANITY!!!

I had a huge thing written out, clicked the wrong button......... It's GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrr... I should be writing this in Word, really I should.

My whole point was to share a site that Logan and I were reading at last night (his books are packed up, and he is supposed to read for a minimum of five minutes a day beyond his reading homework, starting yesterday. Bygosh.com is cute. Logan hasn't read the whole story, but about 1/3 of it. He actually knew 95% of the words on the screen, I was impressed!

Anyway. What I was writing about is that yesterday I thought my day was going to be BAD. As Billy and Logan walked out the door in the morning, I opened my laundry closet, and all of the sudden the 60-ounce bottle of fabric softener came crashing down onto my very hard tile floor. Not a big deal since it's a plastic bottle? No way, it's just not in the cards for me to have good luck like that!!! Liquid starts pouring out of the bottle, all over the floor and under my dryer. I'm freaking out because not only is it spilling, but it's wedged between the back of the bifold door and my dryer, making it almost impossible for me to grab to pick up (tight squeeze!). In the meantime, the bottle has lost all its contents. What happened was apparently it fell cap-first, and the entire cap section was now broken off and stuck INSIDE the bottle. Sigh. I used what I thought to be all the paper towels in the house (though I did find some more later, but that didn't help me then!) and a washcloth, and successfully wiped up everything. My floor is going to be very rain fresh for a while, though! Oh yeah!

And I don't mean to be critical, but sometimes I think the guy (doctor) I type for is a real dolt.... and I mean that with the highest amount of respect. Really. I mean, the guy pays me (well, he pays my boss. who then pays me) to type for him. But I swear if he forgets to turn off his tape recorder one more time, I am personally gonna go down there and cuss HIM out. What he does is starts the recorder and either doesn't realize it's on or doesn't care, then starts swearing like a truck driver about something to his nurse. Stuff like, "F---ing kids!" or "What the h--- is wrong with him?" I usually only catch the bad words, then he stops the tape and restarts when it's out of his system. Why??? I typed for him last night, and he must have left the tape on for a good 15 minutes--the man had entire phone conversations with prospective buyers for a house/condo he has for sale. He cussed out (behind his back) a colleague/patient who has a tendency to cancel appointments as of late. He discussed the Vioxx lawsuits with someone. He seemed to hover over the tape when saying just those naughtiest words. I am so lucky. It's not that I only get to type about feet for a living, but I also get to hear his tantrums AND make his made-up words have some sort of clarity. I mean, really.... Verrucas is still not a word, and I do think they taught that to you in med school. I should be thankful--at least the recorder doesn't make it into the bathroom, like happened to my boss. Or he doesn't fall asleep dictating.

I used to type for a very nice dentist who stopped using our service because he got voice-recognition software (still don't see how it works for him, but whatever). He used to sing me personalized Christmas songs on the end of his tape. I miss him.

I do remember when I used to type for a local Pain Clinic, they hired in the equivalent of a PA (I can't remember her exact title). For a long time she'd be in mid-sentence and just stop for a minute.... then restart in a totally unrelated sentence, leaving me wondering what in the heck she wanted me to type. She did that for a good couple of weeks, every patient she saw. I HATED HER with a hate that cannot be uttered in words. Hehehe. I am sure she was very nice, though.

How did I start ranting about transcription?? That's so not where this blog entry was supposed to go. Hmmm.

Babies are everywhere!

Not much to say this evening, except that the world seems very saturated with baby news. My prayers go out to all the new moms and expectant moms--and the sweet little babies.

I found out Beth is almost definitely pregnant, as confirmed by a half dozen pregnancy tests. Now the really big question is: Is it baby A, or baby A and baby B? OR, could it be baby A, baby B, and baby C?? Double (or triple) yikes go out to her! The twins are 4-1/2 months old now, can you imagine two sets up multiples less than a year apart? There are no words!

Uhm, I think that's really about it. I have been feeling pretty crappy the last few days, so maybe I'll take this opportunity to shut up and go to bed. =)

A restless evening at the Henderson household.

Last night was strange. We watched Stepford Wives (also strange, but not horrible), and went to sleep. In the middle of the night I smell this smell. A smelly smell that smells smelly, in the immortal words of Mr. Crab. I'm thinking, "What is that? Oh great, one of the dogs has pooped in their crates, and is now making finger paintings." It was seriously bothering me for several hours. The worst part was that my nose is still stuffy, so I couldn't figure out what it was exactly. And I didn't want to go down and wake up the dogs. Our Abby WILL NOT shut up if she thinks you're awake and ignoring her. Well, Billy went down about about 6:45 a.m., armed with paper towel, Nature's Miracle, and a trash can--prepared for the worst. Come to find out, it didn't smell in the basement. What it actually was was a skunk wandering around outside. I was so stuffed up I couldn't pinpoint that awful smell. I just knew it wasn't right.

If you're a guy or just don't care about female worries, don't read on.

Today I am feeling more hopeful about my hormonal normalcy. My last... ahem... cycle came without mood swings, crying, or really any remarkable event at all. Now, it has only been a few months, but I have been able to go "Aha! So that's why I was a blubbering mess!" every time up to now. It may have helped that I sort of insisted I go out to mess around with the horses yesterday. As you have probably figured out by now, my horses (generally) aid in my sanity; i.e., they're worth their weight in gold, as far my family is concerned. This uneventful month has given me hope that maybe things are getting back to normal.... maybe my stress levels are going down, too?

On a somewhat-related note, I found out this weekend that a lady I used to babysit for is having triplets, God willing. She is not doing well, and they are preparing for the worst. So please pray for this family, and especially the mother, Terri. I stayed with them 5-7 days a week for about 2 months when their first child was born prematurely, and she had a lot of depression and anxiety issues that very much incapacitated her and made her scared of her beautiful child. I cannot understand how someone that affected could so easily forget.... I am certainly not anxious for another child anytime soon because I do not enjoy the feelings I've had in this postnatal period. But, then again, that is just me.

Well, off to be productive!
