Okay, most of you probably will be able to tell how I voted just from the title. And I'll be the first to say that I respect everyone's right to vote for whomever they want. BUT.... And this is a big BUT... I was taking major issue with the fact that not one single person I talked to who admitted their intentions of voting for Kerry were doing so because they personally believed in what Kerry was touting. They were all just not wanting Bush to win. In my opinion, that is the worst reason to vote for a candidate--because they are not the other guy. Vote for him because he has merit, not because he's not W. I made the statement to my mom that it made you almost wish that Gore was running again. At least you knew where Gore stood on issues--MAN, he may have been way out there, but at least you knew. On the other hand, I never felt like I knew what Kerry stood for and what his real, honest-to-goodness convictions were. Love him or hate him, at least you know Bush does what he says.
Anyway, this is not to get a political debate going because I really get enough of that from my husband with all the listening to Rush Limbaugh, the annoyed yelling of "darn liberals!" at the t.v. during news broadcasts.... I could go on.... But I felt like if Kerry was voted in, he was voted in because he was "not Bush," not because he was "John Kerry." I am happy to say that America proved me wrong--I thought Kerry was going to win because of this sort of error in thinking. I was so focused on it that I flipped on the t.v. at 3 a.m., then again at 6 a.m.
I was impressed with his concession speech, though. Very gracious. I think he showed 1,000 times more good sportsmanship versus that of Al Gore in 2000. Okay, end of politics.

The D'Amore's came over to help us move stuff tonight. The guys got a lot of things moved, but there's still so much to go. I guess they walked into the house and the water heater is spewing gas fumes? This after the builder tells us we're (drum roll, please!) $7,000 over budget. I THINK NOT. Do I have a target on my forehead, because I'm pretty sure God is trying to see exactly how fast I'll crumble. Everything that can go wrong, has.... Or so it seems. Do not get me started on Billy's job and the havoc that has taken place with my bank account! ACK!
