Through the Looking Glass

Today I am BLAH. I was dressed, but as soon as I could tell I was in a bad mood, I changed into my fleece snowflake pajama pants. I wish I knew what was going on with me, why there are so many rollercoasters so many times in a week.... sometimes even in a day. If this is a backlash of not-quite-regulated hormones, it stinks. I think there is more to it, but I can't put my finger on any one life event that could trigger my moods to swing so quickly and so drastically.

I think I look around me at all the dramas in the lives of my family, my friends, and I feel insignificant in the scheme of things, really. I sort of feel detached, like I am looking at my world as one if I'm looking in at a scene in (don't laugh!) a snow globe. I can blame it on stress from building the house, but I really think it's not going to disappear when we move in there or when we sell the old house. And, as far as I can tell, I am the one who has the problem, but the flaws and imperfections in the lives of my loved ones are compounding on me. Sometimes it is hard to breathe. Sometimes I sit amongst them, and I think. I think, and I think, and my eyes glass over like I'm about to lose my composure. The pressure on my chest is almost unbearable...

And I keep thinking of, "What if I were to get pregnant again?" I mean, it's always a possibility. If it were to happen now, what would I do? How would I cope? COULD I cope?

Another Boring Thread About Homeland Security

The plan to catch terrorists unfolds.

Engrish link and toofers!

Here is link to most enjoyable moments...

Oh, and I forgot to add: Hunter has tooth #2. Now, this is really starting to make me feel bad for the kid. Cutting two teeth in a matter of three days is just a recipe for being a big ball of unhappiness.... Poor thing.

Sometimes my spam is so funny!

It's similar to the "JESUS LOVES YOU! REFINANCE NOW!" thing. And I would've passed it on by if I hadn't read the name, and it was similar to someone I was just arguing with on a forum (for spamming, what else). When will I ever learn not to make the computer geeks mad?!!! (And, for the record, John is not a computer geek. A computer weirdo, yes.)

Here's the e-mail:

Subject: Do you desire to perceive commendable next day ?

The recent survey displays that it takes usually of just 1.5
boozings to bring a katzenjammer. But our tablets
helps you shun katzenjammers and awake sensitive great from caput to stomach and all over additional

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN???? I was enjoying the use of katzenjammer and caput, tho. Really, I was.

And that brings me to www.engrish.com . Very funy site. I really want to buy this shirt on there. It says something like "I Hate My Life and Want To Die" on this pretty red shirt with a rainbow and stuff on it. It's so wrong it's hilarious. Billy didn't share my humor. It is pretty hard to explain unless you go to the site, though. Otherwise, it just sounds like I'm suicidal. Which I'm not. At least not today. Heh!

BTW, my computer is now on order. I tried to order it on a Dell Account, but since I didn't have a business tax ID, it didn't work. I switched it to my credit card, and it should be on its way.

Now I've seen it all!

Proof that Costco sells everything.

And very ironic that it is in the "Outdoor Living" category. Shouldn't it really be the "Outdoor Dead" category?

I am still discovering the wonder that is www.slickdeals.net . I got a 1 GB SD card for my mp3 player for $76. I am truly excited. And I almost ordered a Sirius radio complete with car kit for $49. Somebody stop me!

Catching up.

One of my new favorite places is: www.slickdeals.net . Thanks, John. I've been here before, but never bought anything from there. It's the same type of thing as www.techbargains.com (where I found the deal for my laptop way back when).

By the way, the new computer should be on its way in a matter of days. =) Then John, the computer guru that he is, gets to help me figure out how to get all my archaic transcription programs to run on the new system. Ha!

On other fronts, Hunter now has his first tooth. It's just barely peeking out of his gum, but it definitely is a toofer.... and he sure is cranky! I love it how babies look when they just have that one tooth. It's really too bad that cuteness doesn't transfer to adults.

Mom and I went swimming at what is supposed to be Huron Valley's Public Pool (a.k.a. the pool inside the high school of choice). It was a first for us, and it happened that we went during a gym class. I was kind of intimidated swimming in amongst "the beautiful people." Especially since no one was swimming. It was kind of like social time, but in water. I was thinking, "Man! My swimming class in college was hard!" I mean, we actually had to learn how to do all the strokes, and we were graded. We had to learn how to hold our breath for a minimum of 45 seconds under water, and tread water for half an hour. Not that any of those things are hard, but... The girls were all huddled in a corner, shielding the precious hair.

I love to swim, but I was just going too fast, and it's been so long since I've been in a pool that is, you know, long. Like competition long. I didn't do very many laps before I decided my arms were tired.

Today was also a celebration of the start of the 60th year in business for my grandparents. I love them so much, I can't even begin to explain..... Let's just say it was a very emotional time for me, and I fought going off into the bathroom to ball my eyes out. I can't tell you all why--there's a big blank in my mind on how to describe the reasons I was upset. I just was. Despite that, the gathering was nice.... and it's always good to see family.

Now that I've changed subjects a gazillion times.... Who here would have objections to being forced to get a personal credit card to pay for business expenses? And then the business paying you back 1-2 months behind schedule, at their discretion? The reason I ask is because this is what Billy's work has told them they must do, or they can find another job. Billy spends EASILY $100 a day on gas, not to mention his supplies. I don't have a single credit card (no less my meager assortment of three or four!) that can support that kind of spending, especially this close to moving into the new house. It's like paying to work, which is insane. I battled this out with God this morning (one reason I have been upset all day), but I still feel like it is wrong for a business to ask for this. I am so very glad that Billy is employed, and we are making money at all when so many aren't.... But I feel like calling my lawyer, and I am not joking.

Oh, by the way... The meeting about the house went fine. I vented what I needed to, and Billy didn't say too much except repeat what I did... But it was done. We all left smiling, so I guess I just needed to feel heard. 'Course, being told "nobody's perfect" didn't exactly fix anything. We'll see if things improve in the future. I didn't get any refunds or anything, but it was a step for me. I was just going to shut up and wait until the end to say anything about my dissatisfaction.

Pizza's here. Waiting for comments. =)
