Sleep is for the weak!

Okay, so it's 5:38 a.m. as I start this post. I have gotten roughly five hours of sleep, and it's all thanks to my lovely puppy. Well, it's mostly thanks to her. Billy had to drive to Toledo last night at about 10:30, so he didn't show up until like 4:30 a.m. I woke up just enough to notice there was a weird smell going on in my house, so I asked him to check and make sure the dogs were okay. Unfortunately, they weren't. Poor Izzy is really sick as a dog. We've had to scrub out her crate twice in the last hour. I mean, I went through an entire roll of paper towels.... Anyway, my thought was to leave her in the garage with the door partially open so she could at least go outside to do her business, but Billy decided to let her in anyway. I hope I'm not looking at a round 3. My stomach is in knots already.

The old house is officially for sale "big time" as of today's paper. We put in a week-long ad in the Oakland Press, so hope to hear some news on that. We're also having open houses today and tomorrow from 2-5. Which leads me to my next point.

Did anyone pay attention to what the weather was like yesterday here in Michigan. In short, it SUCKED. High 30s, MAYBE low 40s, raining at a good clip. Just nasty. Guess what I was doing? (C'mon, you'll never guess!) Raking leaves. I kid you not. We still have leaves down at the old house. My husband is never home, and when he is, he is working on projects at the new house (which is not a new phenomenon; it's been this way ALL summer long, which is why I get angry with him at times). So guess what suffers? The yard at the old house. It looked horrible. And now, there's not much grass in the back yard. Anyway, it took a good 3-1/2 hours or so to get the leaves moved over to the driveway from the back yard and ditches. There is one spot we've not raked yet, but my guess it's not going to happen before the open house. It was horrible, though. Gordy and I were doing it, and we were soaked and gritty and about ready to pummel Billy. I still have no good things to say about him, so don't ask me right now. =P I came home and literally peeled off my clothes and put on the only thing I could (my legs were numb because they were frozen). Yes, you guessed it: Adidas warm-ups. And can I tell you, my whole entire body is sore. BUT--and this is a very big BUT--Gordy did tell me that I finally had true grit, which, if you know him, is a pretty high compliment in our family. Hahahaha.

I guess I will just go with the fact that I'm still awake and get some of my typing done. Sigh.

Please pray that our house sells ASAP. We are ready!
