What weird things appear in my voicemail...

I just (and I mean JUST; my heart is still fluttering as I type) checked my voicemail at the old house. I am shocked. I am hoping this was not just a random gift given just especially to me, but that everyone was blessed enough to experience this as well.

Message number one was a jolly woman with a Jamaican accent who did not identify herself, just laughed. For a minute, I was thinking "Why did Carmen [Hendricks] call me at the old house?" Then the lady continued, and said she was seeing a new baby within the next three months, so she wanted to be very careful with the pill. Then she wished me a good life, and that was that. As I think about it, I suppose it could be Miss Cleo doing telemarketing..... but the lady wasn't as over-the-top as she was, and, besides, I don't think Miss Cleo advertises anymore.

Message number two was some sort of recording with a guy strongly urging to live life as a gay woman. It was short, it was sweet--okay, so not really sweet, but--and I don't think this person identified himself either (although I may have been to weirded out from the first message to pay attention). Makes me wonder how I got so lucky to get that one, too!

The third message, luckily, was legitimate (regarding The Little House That Would Not Sell), otherwise I would've sworn my voicemail was possessed. I mean, really, what are the odds? And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell that even the suggestion I might become pregnant in the next three months is not a good one. I'm also wondering what list I got on to get such weird calls??

Someone tell me I'm not alone, and there was just mass distribution of this junk.

That is strange. Sorry to say that I haven't received any voicemails like that. I am always getting calls from MBNA though. How many times can I say no, I don't want credit protection.

Ack! Creditshield!!!

We got charged $40 a month on our Chase card for that, for probably a year before either of us noticed. Well, for a few months, at least. It's Billy's card, so he had to cancel it, but he kept forgetting.... Grrr..

We never sign up for those things, so I have no doubt it was done in error.
