So I did a budget the other day. Nothing major, just listed what bills are due when, how much, etc. Also guesstimated our montly income. The scary thing is that BEFORE paying tithe, we're looking at having a mere $500 left over for unexpected stuff. Which, really works out to (after tithe) we have like $200 or something left over for the month's worth of groceries, etc.
All this has me thinking--I've GOT to make some money. But doing what?? I could do more transcription, but my boss only seems to offer me those jobs that eat up my entire week (my last extra job was five times the work I currently do, and made my leg go numb), then go POOF!!! into thin air as soon as so-and-so comes back from maternity leave. I was supposed to start doing more eBay stuff for the bike store, but that's sort of in limbo right now until further notice.
It's not like I can get a night job somewhere. I thought about even a rinky-dink job working at Meijer's or something. If I survived working at night, first off, I can't always guarantee that my darling husband will be home--as he doesn't find out if he's got night work himself until sometimes the day of. I've also seen what working nights can do to me. Sure I was making money, but I was kind of out of it for the rest of the day (a la Wendy! =) )... which just isn't a good option for me with Hunter home and baby #3 due in November.
What to do? What to do?
I need to figure out how to cut corners in spending, etc., but we've actually been doing better the past few weeks and I don't see how it will make any difference. The bills we have are the bills we have. The money we get is just that. Those things don't tend to fluctuate too much. So how do I keep my head above water??
Any ideas??
....and then there were 5.
