I call the carpet guy to find out when our new selection is coming in. He says hopefully Thursday, so we may have it installed then or Friday. Then he asks me if I remember there being a discrepancy in one of the rooms (as in, was it carpet or was it ceramic?). I said, maybe the master closet area? He tells me he thinks he forgot to add that in the quote for the carpet, and asks if it's okay to add it in since he's "at such a tight margin." I tell him that I don't know, and he should discuss it with our builder because I never saw the actual quote. This is obviously not what the guy wants to hear, and I'm rather insulted that he would even suggest upping his price after me having to pick out alternate carpet because his distributor screwed it up. Is this guy for real? I had all intentions to tell my contractor, but his voicemail was full. I will call him first thing in the morning. But that's not why my day continued to turn south...
I had finished picking up L-dog from school and decided to run some errands over on the Dixie. I had to go to the Post Office just to put some letters in the box (missed my mail person today), so I decided to stop by the Post Office by Dunham's and the new Farmer Jack. I think I won't be doing that again anytime soon. The parking lot is insane now that the Farmer Jack is there.... But I'm getting to that....
I left Hunter and Logan in the car so I could walk up to the box (there were cars lined up, otherwise I would've just drove). On the way there, clumsy me drops one of my bills. I stoop down to pick it up, but just in time to hear the guy walking about 10 feet to the right side of me saying, "Lookout!Lookout!Lookout!Lookout!" I had no idea what he was talking about, but he did manage to point, and I looked over to my left in time to see a car backing out right into my side. I did just get tapped, and I hit the car before she got any momentum up, but it was still a little scary. A lot of people saw it, and were asking if I was okay, but the person driving the car never stopped to see if I was fine. I think I scared her more than she scared me. If I hadn't moved as fast as I did picking up the letter, or if that guy hadn't told me to look out, it could've been worse.
By this point, I needed to change my day for the better. I got to visit my grandparents for a little bit, then decided that I WAS GOING TO THE YMCA, even with two kids... a feat that's never been tried previously. I'm glad to say that Hunter was very good despite the fact that, technically, he was overdue for a nap.... and, really, dinner. But they said he was happy. Logan had fun, too, and even got to play with the hamster they keep up in the loft area. I got to work out for half an hour, and I felt much better. Billy even took the dogs out to the new house, so I don't even have to take care of them. Yay! Except for the fact that they locked the doors of his van while it was running. Word on the street is that Mitchell (my nephew) found it very amusing.
I feel fine, now, thanks for asking. =)
....and then there were 5.

Wow, that's scary. I have heard of many accidents in that parking lot.
I figured it was just a matter of time before something happened to me there. I'm going to avoid that parking lot from now on.... I had a sneaking suspicion that yesterday would be the day I would get into a car accident, just because I was already mad about Billy's job and the nerve of the carpet guy. Oh well! I feel happier today.
