I don't know if it was the way I was doing it, but I was getting nowhere fast. I went to just about every website I could think of to check out getting high-speed Internet for the new house. I would love to get Earthlink since I have always been very happy with them. The catch is that the set-up charges are like $799 before $400 discount (or something like that). Billy's like, "Ooooooh no! No way!" I looked at Comcast, SBC, and that's all I could think of. I entered Melinda & John's number, and also my parents' number to see if service was available. Nein. Not a chance. What?
Now, I know that John has high-speed. It's laughable to think he has anything else. So why can't I look it up online? Was I trying at the wrong time of day?
And who wants to pay $99 for installation, $99 a month for 15 months, then $59 a month afterwards? Do the math. That's like $600 for installation, so not really a fabulous deal. This may have been for satellite service, I am not sure (I looked at so much stuff last night).
Can someone steer me in the right direction? I really want the Comcast Yahoo! DSL because it's the least expensive per month, but I don't really care for Yahoo!
....and then there were 5.

Thanks, John. All I was calling her for was prices, really, and to know if I was wasting my time by looking at them for service.
I will call the person you told me about tomorrow. It sounds like a good deal. I'm just bummed that I'll have to change my e-mail address. The end of an era!
